1. What is a personal data and what is a processing of personal data?

Personal data is information that can be attributed to a natural person. Some examples of this can be: Social security number, Name, Address, e-mail addresses and other contact details. Your purchase history can also be classified as personal data and in some cases a personal data can also be an IP address, if this can be attributed to a natural person.

3. What personal data do we collect about you as a customer and for what purpose (why)?

You may provide information about yourself when you use our services when making a purchase or as a visitor to rimgard.com, when subscribing to newsletters and marketing emails or when contacting us.

3.1 To be able to complete an order/purchase

We will store your personal data until the purchase has been completed (including delivery and payment) and for a period of 36 months thereafter in order to be able to handle any complaints and warranty matters. Note that an administration period of up to 30 days may be added. This collection of your personal data is required in order for us to be able to fulfill our obligations according to the purchase agreement. If the information is not provided, our obligations cannot be fulfilled and we are therefore forced to deny you the purchase.

3.2 To be able to handle customer service matters

The processing is necessary to satisfy our and your legitimate interest in handling customer service cases, until the customer service case has been closed.

3.3 Marketing

If/when you have specifically given your consent to receive direct marketing, including the newsletter, we will process personal data registered for the direct marketing until you unsubscribe or notify us that you no longer wish to receive direct marketing. Note that an administration period of up to 30 days may be added.

3.4 Key card

If you have registered your key card on our website (voluntarily), we save the information so that you can order a new key in case you lose yours. See point 11.3.4 for more information.

4. Third parties

The information we collect may be shared with our close collaboration partners for analytical purposes. No personal data will be forwarded, exchanged or published outside our organization and our reliable partners.

5. Where do we process your personal data?

We always aim for your personal data to be processed within the EU/EEA. In some cases, however, we may have to transfer the information to a country outside the EU/EEA provided there is a legal basis for doing so.

6. How long do we save your personal data?

We process your personal data as long as it is necessary with regard to the purpose of the current processing and as long as there is a legal basis for the purpose.  

7. How do we handle social security numbers?

When you make a purchase on rimgard.com and choose to pay with Klarna, you will be asked to enter your social security number. When and if you choose Klarna as a payment method and thus have to enter your social security number, the social security number is sent directly to Klarna. We therefore do not manage or save your social security number, even if you filled it in at rimgard.com.

8. What are cookies and how do we use them?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive when you visit websites. We use first-party cookies and third-party cookies for the main purposes of web functionality, web statistics and marketing. Some cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods that enable an analysis of your use of the website, for example so-called "Cookies", text files that are stored on your computer . This generated information about your use of this website is usually transferred to one of Google's servers in the USA and stored there.

9. How is your personal data protected?

We use IT systems to protect the confidentiality, integrity and access to personal data. This is to ensure that they are protected against unauthorized access, loss, destruction or damage. Only the people who actually need to process your personal data in order for us to fulfill our stated purposes have access to them.

You can always contact our customer service with questions regarding the handling of personal data at info@rimgard.com. We may make changes to our privacy policy. The latest version of the privacy policy is always available on our website.

11. Your rights

 11.1 You have the right to request confirmation of whether or not we process personal data about you. If we do so, you also have the right to see which data we process.

11.2 If an information is incorrect, you always have the right to request that it be corrected.

11.3 If we process your personal data with consent as a legal basis for the processing, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time with future effect.

11.3.4 Keep in mind that your key card registration on our website will disappear if you choose to delete your customer data. You cannot then order a new key if you lose the key card.

11.4 Data subjects have the right to object to personal data being processed for direct marketing. The easiest way to do this is to unsubscribe from mailings by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the mailing or contact us at info@rimgard.com .

11.5 Registrants always have the right to have their personal data deleted. An exception is if we are required by law to retain the data.
